Restylane

Restylane is long-lasting gel that, once injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated. Similar to one of the body’s own natural substance (hyaluronic acid), it is a completely safe treatment.

The hyaluronic acid in Restylane simply supplements the body’s age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump-up the lip or to raise the skin and “fill-in” the particular wrinkle being treated.

What can be treated with Restylane?

• Smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead)
• Deep folds
• Shaping facial contours (cheeks and chin correcting)
• The effect of Restylane will vary from individual to individual. It very much depends on factors such as the person’s age and lifestyle, the structure of the skin and the degree of perfection required. Most patients however choose to have a further treatment within 6-12 months, since the hyaluronic acid dissolves over time.

What are the side effects?

Some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness. These typically resolve spontaneously within 1-2 days.
